Combe Rail has proposed reopening between Barnstaple and Braunton as a light railway. With the official sponsorship and enthusiastic support of North Devon MP Selaine Saxby, an application was made in 2021 to the Department for Transport “Restoring Your Railway” to fund initial feasibility studies. The DfT judged that the TawLink proposal had merit, but that funding would have to come from other sources. Full details of our proposal can be found on the TawLink website
